Biomes at The Leaf Closed January 8 – 10 for Display Change

According to the recent press release from Assiniboine Park Zoo,  the upcoming closures at the Assiniboine Park Zoo and the biomes at The Leaf is going to start from today to January 19. These closures are scheduled in advance as part of regular operations and the Conservancy’s ongoing commitment to delivering excellent visitor experiences.

After the closure, the Zoo will re-open on Saturday, January 20 and resume regular daytime hours of operation (open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

The biomes at The Leaf will be closed to the public from the same day, and will be open on Wednesday, January 10, for a display change and garden maintenance.

During the closure, the Babs Asper Display House will be completely transformed in preparation for the opening of Fleurs de Villes VOYAGE, which runs from January 11 – 21. The spectacular travel-themed showcase will feature 15 one-of-a-kind fresh floral mannequins created by local floral designers, taking inspiration from Manitoba’s diverse multi-cultural heritage and travel destinations around the world. The show is included with regular biome admission.

At the end of the Fleurs de Villes VOYAGE show, the biomes will be closed temporarily on January 22 while The Leaf horticulture team once again transforms the Babs Asper Display House with a new Flora of the Philippines display. The biomes will re-open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, January 22 then resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, January 23 (open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.).

The scheduled biome closures will not impact Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar. The restaurant will remain open daily providing lunch and dinner service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
